Lita Rossana Ford popularly known as Lita Ford is a British-born American singer-songwriter, guitarist and vocalist who served as the lead guitarist of the all-girl hard rock group The Runaways in the late 1970s.Their music and their rebellious lyrics made them popular within the world of rock. The band was not able to achieve major success within their home country of the United States but earned huge popularity overseas especially in Japan. Ford started a metal solo career after the band was disbanded in 1979. She began voice lessons, and then released her debut solo album , 'Out for Blood' then 'Dancin' on the Edge. Both the albums did not receive much success and Ford just vanished from the world of rock for a few years. The singer returned with her smashing hit album 'Lita, which debuted in 1988. The lead single "Kiss me Deadly" as well as the ballad "Close My Eyes Forever" were big hits. Unfortunately, her popularity was brief and she disappeared from the world of music for a number of years. In 1995, she released "Black" and fifteen years later 'Wicked Wonderland. The most recent album "Time Capsule" was launched in 2016. Guitar Player Magazine presented her with the prestigious Certified Guitar Legend Award.
